講義概要/Class Outline

全学共通英語教育プログラムでは英語コミュニケーション能力を養成するため、少人数能力別クラス編成の「英語会話」と「英語（講読）」をそれぞれ週１回受講し、アチーブメントテストの数値目標達成に向けた学習をします。1，2年次では「英語会話」はネイティブスピーカー講師による授業、「英語（講読）」は日本人講師による授業となります。すべてのクラスでe-learningの課題学習があり、英語力向上に必要な学習時間をカバーします。授業はクラスによってTOEICまたはTOEIC Bridgeの試験対策を含んでおり、学年末のアチーブメントテスト（TOEICまたはTOEIC Bridge）により英語力の伸びを測定します。3，4年次では2年終了時の数値目標TOEIC Bridge140点（TOEICでは400点）を達成した学生を対象とする成績上位者クラスと未達成者のクラスに分かれます。成績上位者クラスではTOEIC730点以上の高得点を目指した学習を行います。未達成者のクラスでは前期末にもTOEIC Bridge模擬テストを使用した学力診断を行います。このテストで数値目標を達成した学生は後期から成績上位者クラスに移行します。
（達成目標）TOEIC Bridge１４０点程度の英語力を習得すること。（最上位クラスはTOEIC730点程度）

講義計画 /Class Structure

回内容

1 Communication Spotlight (C.S.) Unit 5: Days， months， dates. `Kei`s birthday is November 2nd.` `When is Sports Day?` Practice using ordinal numbers. Listening excercise - practice noting the dates.

2 C. S. Unit 5: Listening excercise. Focus on linking sounds. Practice recognising and repeating linking sounds. Further practice expressing dates. Solidifying grasp on ordinal numbers. Practice asking questions and getting information about dates.

3 C.S. Unit 6: `I really enjoyed the weekend: I met friends from Junior High School， went to Canal City...` Talking about things you did. Looking at the past (tense). Listening excercise. Repeating key expressions.

4 C.S. Unit 6: Listening excercise. Focus on disappearing sounds. Recognising disappearing sounds. Expanding talk on things you did. Speaking activity to develop fluency in using past tence: Asking others what they did recently.

5 C.S. Unit 7: `What do you do?` = `Tell me about your work.` Talking about work. Review of occupations. Listening excercise. Role-play activity based on work description.

6 C.S. Unit 7: Listening excercise. Focus on sentence stress. Using various examples (questions， statements， instructions) practice speaking with natural sentence stress. Expanding on topic of work description.

7 C.S. Unit 8: Review of time. `I get up at 6:00， leave home around 7.40， take the 8 o`clock train and arrive on time for class.` Talking about daily routine. Listening excercise.

8 C.S. Unit 8: Listening excercise. Focus on weak vowels. Practice saying words with weak vowel sounds. Describing daily routine. Asking and answering questions on this topic.

9 C.S. Unit 9: `Where is the printer?` `It`s on the bookshelves， next to the computer.` Review of prepositions (next to， under etc.) Talking about where things are. Looking around the classroom and saying where objects are. Listening excercise. Repeating key vocabulary.

10 C.S. Unit 9: Listening excercise: Focus on `shadowing` Can`t understand everything? Guess the meaning. Practice `shadowing`. Develop practice in explaining where things are.

学習・教育目標/Class Target

経済、商、経営、芸術、国際文化、情報科学学部：「英語（講読）」1，2年次ではリーディングパート対策を強化し、レベルに応じて基本的な文法や語彙力を養成、リーディング力の強化をはかる。3，4年次ではレベルに応じてTOEICまたはTOEIC Bridgeのリーディングパート対策強化をはかる。「英語会話」1，2年次ではリスニングパート対策を強化し、レベルに応じて英語コミュニケーション能力の強化をはかる。3，4年次ではレベルに応じてTOEICまたはTOEIC Bridgeのリスニングパート対策強化とコミュニケーション能力強化をはかる。

評価基準/GradingCriteria

授業及び定期試験の評価に加えて、英語アチーブメントテスト（TOEICまたはTOEIC Bridge/後期試験期間中実施）結果及びe-Learning課題学習「アルクネットアカデミー」の学習履歴とミニテスト結果をもとに評価する。

評価方法/GradingMethod

前期：1，2年次では授業及び定期試験80点、e-Learning課題学習20点（ミニテスト結果を含む）として評価する。3，4年次では授業及び定期試験100点として評価する。
後期：1，2年次では授業及び定期試験50点、e-Learning課題学習20点（ミニテスト結果を含む）、英語アチーブメントテスト結果30点として評価する。 3，4年次では授業及び定期試験70点、英語アチーブメントテスト結果30点として評価する。

受講上の注意/Class Rules

ATTENDANCE: Regular attendance is required in order to pass this course successfully. Failure to attend 11 classes per semester will mean a final exam result of E.
PARTICIPATION: Effort and participation in class are a must. Tasks assigned are to be completed. Mere attendance is not enough to gain credit. Sleeping will be regarded as an absence.
LATE ARRIVALS: Students are expected to be on time for class. Arriving late more than twice will be regarded as an absence.
